WebToGo’s MiFi Connection Manager enhances the usability of MiFi devices and allows Network Operators to solve bill-shock issues, to deliver additional services and to provide a better MiFi user experience for all user segments.

Munich, 21.12.2002 – WebToGo GmbH, a leading provider of Traffic Management, Diagnostics, Messaging and Cross and Up-Selling solutions for Network Operators and Device Manufacturers, today announced the launch of its white-label MiFi Connection Manager.

The increasing availability of connected devices is boosting the attractiveness of MiFi devices for consumers. Whereas a USB stick only connects a laptop, with a MiFi device the mobile connection from a single SIM can be shared by different devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, e-book readers and cameras, even if they are not themselves 3G-enabled.

The biggest challenge in supporting MiFi devices in the EU is with respect to bill shock. With the administrative interface of the device only available in a browser, there is no reliable way to push information to users when data thresholds are reached. This is compounded by applications other than the browser increasingly causing the highest data consumption. The WebToGo MiFi Connection Manager allows live push of bill-shock messages, through established mechanisms already in place for other device classes, such as SMS alerts and HTTP redirects.

The solution also enhances user experience, offering features such as WiFi-autopairing and monitoring of MiFi-device signal strength and battery charge. Like all WebToGo OneClick Internet solutions, the MiFi Connection Manager provides a wide variety of additional features, ranging from advertising to policy management and is fully configurable in the feature set it offers. The operator is left free in deciding which features should remain within the Web-UI or run natively on the end-device.

The application is available stand-alone or integrated into WebToGo’s best-in-class OneClick Internet solution supporting all device classes. All other functionality provided by WebToGo, such as network and connection diagnostics is also available.
