MUNICH. o2 Germany offers a new version of the Connection Manager. The o2 Connection Manager has been developed by WebToGo. The Version 2.0 is available for Mac OS X 10.3. or higher and can be downloaded for free under www.o2online.de/goto/connectivity. Besides the o2 Laptop Card the Connection Manager 2.0 now supports handsets for mobile surfing via UMTS as well.

With the o2 Connection Manager 2.0 that was developed by WebToGo even Mac-Users can now surf the internet with the o2 Laptop-Card or a mobile phone. Thereto the mobile phone will be connected via USB cable or Bluetooth to the Mac. An extra driver installation is not neccessary for Mac. All essential parameters are set automatically by the o2 Connection Manager. After installation the customer is able to connect via GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA or Wifi by clicking the „Connect“ button.

Further new features of Version 2.0 are:

• SMS Manager to send and receive SMS on the Mac as well as contact synchronization
• Statistics with proof of monthly and individual connections
• Automatic authentication on o2 Wifi Hotspots
• Prioritization of connection channel on each connection
• VPN support for quick access to corporate networks
• Predefinition of threshold values (hours/ MB) for UMTS / Wifi connections with notification or automatic disconnect when reaching the set threshold values
• Cost control by showing data volume and online time
• Supports HSDPA connections
• Displays Homezone
